An experiential CranioSacral Therapy workshop for exploring your listening, perception, and trust in the therapeutic process.
CranioSacral Therapy asks us to listen with our hands, our awareness, and our whole presence. The Art of Listening is a small, experiential workshop designed to give practitioners space to slow down, listen more deeply, and explore what becomes possible when we stop trying to direct the session and allow the client’s system to lead.
What We’ll Explore
We’ll work with the foundations you already know, but with less emphasis on doing and more attention to listening. Through discussion, experiential exercises, hands-on trades, and a multi-hands client session, we’ll explore how to recognize what the client’s system is asking for and how to stay with the process as it unfolds.
This is a space to practice, experiment, ask questions, and receive feedback without needing to get anything “right.”
The Day
The Art of Listening is intentionally limited to three practitioners, creating space for individual attention, conversation, and hands-on exploration.
We’ll begin the day with discussion and experiential work, followed by coached practitioner trades where you’ll have the opportunity to both give and receive.
After lunch, the three practitioners and I will work together in a multi-hands session with one client. This gives us an opportunity to listen collaboratively, observe how the therapeutic process unfolds through multiple sets of hands, and explore what happens when we follow the client’s system together.
We’ll finish with time to integrate, discuss what emerged, and ask questions.
Who This Is For
This workshop is for CranioSacral Therapy practitioners who have completed CS2 or beyond and want more time to practice the art of listening within the work.
You don’t need to be an advanced practitioner. Come with the skills you already have, curiosity about what you’re feeling beneath your hands, and a willingness to slow down and let the client’s system lead.
With only three practitioner spaces, there is plenty of room for questions, individual guidance, and exploration of what you are experiencing in the work.

About Patra
I’m a Techniques Certified CranioSacral Therapist with extensive training through the Upledger Institute, including advanced studies throughout North America and Europe. My continuing studies have included traveling to Europe to work with Thomas Rasmussen, Ph.D., MSC, CST-D , Director of Research for Upledger Institute International, whose approach to CranioSacral Therapy has further deepened my exploration of listening, stillness, and allowing the client’s system to lead. The principles I’ve learned have greatly informed the way my work has developed.
The Art of Listening grew out of my own clinical work and my desire to create a space where practitioners can explore this aspect of CranioSacral Therapy together. It isn’t about learning another technique. It’s about becoming more comfortable with what you’re already perceiving, trusting your hands, and giving the work space to reveal where it wants to go.
Beyond Protocols
Traditional study groups often focus on reviewing and practicing the protocols taught in CranioSacral Therapy classes. The Art of Listening takes a different approach.
This is not a workshop about perfecting neutrality or becoming a passive observer. We’ll explore how stillness, intuition, perception, and connection can deepen our ability to listen to the client’s system without deciding in advance where the session needs to go.
Rather than asking “What technique should I use next?” we’ll practice becoming quiet enough to recognize what is already emerging beneath our hands, trusting what we perceive, and allowing that information to guide the work.
The goal isn’t to do less. It’s to listen more deeply.
Ready to Spend a Day Listening Differently?
Join me in North Beach for a small, experiential day of hands-on practice, exploration, and deeper listening. With only three practitioner spaces available for each date, the day is intentionally intimate and collaborative.
Cancellation Policy
Because each workshop is limited to only three practitioners, your registration is a commitment to attend and reserves one of a very small number of spaces.
Cancellations made 14 days or more before the workshop are eligible for a full refund. With at least 5 days’ notice, your registration may be transferred to another Art of Listening workshop. Cancellations made less than 5 days before the workshop will forfeit the registration fee unless your space can be filled by another practitioner.
